 “It’s All About the Shorts”…
…it’s really all about the fabric that the compression shorts are made from. The Ultimate Walking Gear™ nylon / spandex fabric is unlike the compression fabrics used by the majority of other active wear companies. The Ultimate Walking Gear™ compression material is knitted on a rachel instead of a tricot knitting machine. This process allows for yarns of different sizes to be knitted together.
The majority of compression fabrics used in the market place today are knitted using a combination of nylon or polyester yarns with spandex. The yarn size used in knitting fabric is usually 40 denier but can be as low as 30 and sometimes as high as 50. Denier is the size scale of yarn. The higher the number, the larger the yarn.
The cloth that the UWG compression shorts are constructed from is a 25% 240 denier spandex and 75% 50 denier nylon. Spandex compression and power is relevant to, not only the spandex content, but primarily the denier of the spandex yarn. The higher the spandex denier, the more recovery power and compression the fabric is capable of generating.
Consequently, the Ultimate Walking Gear™ 75% Nylon, 25% Lycra fabric produces and provides, at a minimum, 5 times more comfortable compression than many other manufacturers of compression products. |
